Boxin – Dynamic and extreme physical theatre (2009)

An edgy tale of mindsets and misinformation, looking at prejudice and reconciliation.

Premiered February 2009. An edgy tale of mindsets and misinformation, looking at prejudice and reconciliation. We explore the use of barriers twists, turns and slippery slopes as a metaphoric stimulus for choreography, which uses Physical Theatre, Contemporary Dance, Breakin’ (breakdancing) and Parkour.

Steve Denton’s architectural set of platforms, slopes and corners sees the performers blur the line between dance, theatre and parkour – all to a soundtrack every bit as unexpected as the story that unfolds. New York theatre director, Dr. Daniel Banks, adds an international dimension to the collaborative team that delivers our most ambitious work yet.
