Artikulate – Body Language (2005/2007)

Body Language combines film, spoken word and ‘Funkstyle’ (original street dance) inspired physical theatre.

A TV salesman struggles to come to terms with his reality as he is consumed by his new invention, the 20 Screen Plasma Dream. ‘You only need watch one minute of television to receive 20 minutes of information’. Body Language combines film, spoken word and ‘Funkstyle’ (original street dance) inspired physical theatre to illustrate his frustrated words that have been scratched and transformed by a DJ. The words manipulate the salesman’s body into rhythmic collisions and emotional turmoil. His hands illustrate slurred speech, his arms stutter and his body becomes a complex vehicle of contradictions as he tries to find a truth in this age of information overload.
